Abstract
Background: This study aimed to review and identify the characteristics of simulation education research for Korean nursing students, focusing on the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL) Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice (HSSOBP)TM.

Methods: Online databases such as KCI, KISS, RISS, ScienceON, and KMBASE were searched. Studies that met the following criteria were included: 1) those involving Korean nursing students, 2) those evaluating the effectiveness of simulation education, and 3) those published in Korean academic journals from 2013 to 2022. A total of 191 studies were selected for systematic review based on the PRISMA flow.

Results: Non-randomized controlled trials accounted for 89%. The simulation education was mainly conducted as a simulation practice subject for seniors in the regular curriculum. The most common scenario topic was adult health nursing through high-fidelity simulation. The 10 items of the INACSL HSSOBPTM were generally reported, but professional development, simulation-enhanced interprofessional education, and facilitation were less frequently reported.

Conclusion: This result suggests that it is necessary to conduct simulation education in compliance with the INACLS HSSOBPTM and report each item in related research.
